Mel Walbridge

My passion for movement developed at a young age, and was cultivated through a range of athletic pursuits. After completing my college volleyball career with a National Championship and All-American honors, I found myself with intense and unrelenting back pain. I came to yoga originally as a way to heal my body; I ended up just as inspired by the emotional practice as I was with the physical. For the first time in my life I was able to listen to my body in a way that nurtured it, rather than demanded something from it.

After ten years of practice in various studios across the country, I enrolled in Kula's 200hr teacher training program. Within my classes I strive to create a safe environment with a rigorous flow, dynamic breathe, and space to tune in and explore the subtleties of practice.
